Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Analytics

Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Analytics prepares students for a career in Business Analytics, also known as Business Intelligence. Students are offered an integrated business and information technology education that is the key driver to ask the right questions to uncover the strategic information needs within organizations, answer these questions by extracting and assessing meaningful data, and clearly communicate the information from the data so that sound decisions can be made. The emphasis of this program is on developing students’ business, technological, analytical, and communication skills. During the application components of this program, students work independently, in groups, and with community organizations to further develop the necessary skills needed for a business analyst.

Program Objectives

The following objectives are designed to meet BSU mission and its objectives.

  • Prepare students’ abilities to understand business concepts, terms, and theories.
  • Prepare students in becoming proficient in the use of computer languages, databases, and other applications of information technology.
  • Develop students’ understanding of business problems.
  • Develop students’ analytical skills used in business decisions.
  • Develop students’ ability to solve problems through the use of critical thinking techniques.
  • Develop students’ communication skills necessary to meet the needs of business organizations.
  • Prepare students for a professional work environment as a business analyst.

Program Outline

To receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Analytics, students must earn 131 credit hours. Program requirements are as follows:
