Bachelor Degree in  Sports and Entertainment Management

We’ve all been there. Hitting high notes as we belt it out into a hairbrush. Then a smooth spin on the heels to look in the mirror and think, “I look sooo good. Forget school, I’m heading straight for the top of the charts.”

And unfortunately for most of us, that dream came to a screeching halt when we first recorded our voices on a cell phone and realized the high notes were actually a “swing and a miss.”

If you’re reading this, you probably stayed in school and started planning out a career outside of showbiz. But before you give up on the dream, consider this—Shaun White (Olympic gold medalist) doesn’t score endorsement deals, start a clothing and shoe line, or handle the business of his sports career on his own; he has teams of professionals helping him out. Likewise, Justin Bieber has a whole crew of people making sure his shows run smoothly, his interviews go well, and most importantly, ensuring that his hair looks good. With NYUS’s Entertainment, Sport & Promotion Management program, you can pursue a career in the biz, but out of the limelight.

Career opportunities in this industry have as much range as Mariah Carey’s voice and include sports and entertainment marketing, sales promotion management, retail services, public relations, strategy development, research and analysis, event management services, hospitality, food and beverage management, spokesperson relations, business negotiations, sales and incentives, and advertising production coordination.

BSU students seeking to be the next Jerry Maguire and pursue talent management and contract negotiation have gone on to law school upon graduation.
